Die Rolling Stones- Tour des Jahres 1978 – „Some Girls“ – wird von vielen Fans als eine ihrer besten 
überhaupt angesehen. Die Tour startete direkt nach Ercheinen des Albums „Some Girls“. 
Als die Band Mitte Juli in Texas ankam, hatte das Album mittlerweile den Platz an der Sonne, 
Platz 1 in den US- Charts, erklommen. Getreu dem Motto „Back to Basics” stand die Musik im 
Vordergrund, auf abschweifende Inszenierung wurde ganz bewußt martialisch auf ein Minimum begrenzt. 
Dieses Konzert aus dem Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, 18. Juli 1978, zeigt die 
Rolling Stones energiegeladen und powernd vor einem begeisterten Publikum. Natürlich spielen die Stones 
viele weitere Klassiker auch auf der „Some Girls“- Tour. Das ursprünglich auf 16-mm- gedrehte Filmmaterial
 wurde sorgfältig restauriert und selbst der Ton wurde von Bob Clearmountain von den ursprünglichen 
Mehrspurbändern neu abgemischt und remastered. Die Rolling Stones sind somit zweifellos wieder auf 
dem Höhepunkt und in Bestform.

The Rolling Stones 1978 tour of the USA in suppoert of that year’s „Some Girls“ album is considered by fans to be one of their very best. The tour followed immediately on the release of the „Some Girls“ album and by the time the band arrived in Texas in mid-July the album had hit the No. 1 spot on the US charts. The tour took a „back to basics“ approach, with the band and their music very much at the forefront and little or no eleborate staging. Filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on 18 July 1978, this concert film captures the Rolling Stones delivering a raw, energetic performance in front of a crowd who are clearly loving the show. Many of the tracks from „Some Girls“ are included in the live set with a sprinkling of Stones classics from earlier albums. Originally shot on 16mm film, the footage has been carefully restored and the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multitrack tapes. This is undeniably the Rolling Stones at the peak of their form.
